Abstract:

There are many naming methods of medical English terminology, such as naming after place, myth and allusion, association, transliteration, etc. Metaphor is an important naming method in medical vocabulary. It refers to profound and complex medical vocabulary with the help of common things in life. It enables people to infer the meaning of medical diseases or anatomical structures from the characteristics of familiar things, so it has the advantages of simplicity and intuition. Since ancient times, medical researchers have developed a large amount of medical English terminologies through metaphorical mechanism. From the perspective of metaphor, this study collects and excavates a series of medical English terms, hoping to provide some reference for medical English research.
