Translation of Terms in the Metallurgy Materials

Abstract

Abstract: Based on analysis of frequently occurred mistakes in the translation of terms in metallurgy materials, especially those on the inappropriate expression of professional semantic elements, the author concludes that the mistranslations are elaborated from the following perspectives: everyday meaning for professional meaning, literal meaning for technical meaning, and mismatch of register meanings. The author also discusses some strategies for these problems.
