Abstract: Given the difference between the meaning of yuzhen in Chinese and the meaning of its English translation (or aftershock), we think that it is necessary to replace yuzhen with xuzhen, which could be translated into English as continuation shock.

Key words: continuation shock, rename, aftershock, earthquake, yuzhen (aftershock)
