Introduction on Mersenne Primes

Abstract

Abstract: The Mersenne prime is a special kind of prime. It is an important element of number theory, and also one of the hot and difficult points of today's scientific research. Since the prime has been presented, the relative studies have been made significant progress under the project of Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS). This paper gives a brief introduction to Mersenne primes.
