Abstract: Dictionary and encyclopedia are important sources for scientific and technical data. In order to assure the quality, we need to control the contents of dictionary entry and encyclopedia article. In this article, we proposed a set of knowledge-oriented metadata (KOM) for dictionary and encyclopedia making. We also think that more emphasis should be paid on internal control over knowledge contents than those paid on external management of file and work flow.
