Some Theoretical Problems with Construction of Conceptual Systems for Terms: Case Study on “Lexicology” and “Lexical Meanings”

Abstract:

It is a new research perspective to study and analyze terms and sets of terms based on conceptual systems and their construction. This paper discusses three fundamental problems related to conceptual systems and the construction. Starting with relationships among terms, concepts and definitions, it clarifies logical connections of these three aspects to further analyze the meanings and roles for constructing the conceptual systems. Moreover, by terminologically exemplifying “lexicology”, it graphically presents the concept of this term.
