Standardization of English TCM Subject Names

Abstract

Abstract:

Standardization of English TCM subject names is very important to the discipline development and the construction of TCM academic system, and the entangled translations limited its international development. Guided by specific standardization principles for English translations of TCM terms, we collected the English names of the concepts from international and Chinese standards, dictionaries and textbooks, referred to the English naming conventions of disciplines in other fields, and chose the standard English names according to the subject features and the language structure of a TCM term. And discussed related difficulties.
