Abstract: For half a century, the theories of generative linguistics have been widely acknowledged and discussed. And to some extent, its relevant large amount of terms are hard to comprehend. The paper aims to clarify these terms in the perspectives of its philosophical foundation, the related subjects background, the development and change of theory. We also discussed the theoretical origin, subject sources and the theory transition of the generative linguistics terms based on linguistic theories.
