Abstract: Through reviewing the nomenclature of western and Chinese medicines and the English translation principle of CM, the strategies of English translation of CM disease names are soundly discussed. According to the correlative relations between names of Western and Chinese medicines, the translation method of free translation is the first choice, literal translation the second and the transliteration the third, and the three methods are comprehensively and flexibly applied. Specific translations by the three translation methods for the CM disease names under different conditions are discussed in detail.
