Abstract: It is chemistry that has enhanced our understanding of physical world and helped us create a huge number of new materials. In introducing chemistry systematically from western to China, a large quantity of new chemical terms were created. With the progress of time, some of these chemical terms have been changed. In this paper, we have investigated some chemical terms that appeared in 1950s and fade out in the later years. The changes of some chemical terms such as silicon, glycosides and protein is introduced in detail. The formation of other chemical terms such as acyl, carbohydrate, peptide, Lutetium, Einsteinium, Fermium, etc. is introduced briefly.
