Abstract:
As a peculiar object in the solar system, more than 1700 comets have been found, and China is one of the earliest countries to observe comets in the world. The earliest comet records can be traced back to the oracles of the Shang Dynasty. At the same time, China has also preserved the most complete and systematic observation record of comets in the world. The detailed naming and classification according to the structure and characteristics still have certain reference significance and value for modern astronomy.
Key words: comet, ancient Chinese astronomy, Mawangdui Silk Texts
