Abstract:

In the 1950s, the ways in which terminology work was organized in various subject areas and each way had its own characteristics. In the field of science and technology, the standardization of terms was organized through the improvement of working mechanisms, integration of resources, coordination of relationships and cooperation, selection of experts, and formulation of rewards. And after the end of the Academic Terminology Working Committee, Compiling and Publishing Committee of Chinese Academy of Sciences was established to organize terminology work. In the field of medicine and health, the terminology standardization work was carried out, mainly by hiring experts and organizing relevant personnel for centralized review and coordination. The field of humanities and social sciences also hired experts to serve as working committee members, and made some arrangements for advancing the terminology work, but the results were minimal. It is of great practical significance to understand the characteristics of organizational work in various subject areas and compare the differences between them.
