Abstract: Based on the background of sino-foreign cultural exchange, we briefly reviewed the TCM translation history and made comments on some problems in English translation of TCM terms, i.e. misinterpretation, taking words too literary, language confusion and wrong definition, etc.. We think that the principles of literal translation, free translation, transliteration, borrowing, and convention are still the guiding principle of TCM translation.
