Abstract: The author summarizes previous official articles published in China from 1932-2006 on chemical nomenclature, discusses the uses and changes of related characters, and analyzes the differences between mainland China and Taiwan Province. The author also foresees the future of Chinese character's use in chemical nomenclature.
