In the past decade, the study of specialized language in Europe has undergone a cognitive shift. This new trend placed a great impact on the development of the terminological theories, and resulted in some conspicuous theoretical paradigms. The purpose of this paper is to make a brief introduction to the emergence and development of this theory and to provide some reference for the construction of Chinese terminology theory.
