Abstract:
Prof. Frieda Steurs, head of the ISO/TC 37 standardization committee for Flanders, and Prof. Gabriele Sauberer, director of TermNet of Netherlands, co-wrote a conference paper in 2016. This article here aims to introduce the main ideas in the above-mentioned paper co-authored by the two respectable professors, i.e. terminology management can have an important impact on the safety and security issues in industry and engineering environments, as a consequence on the liabilities of products and services. And key aspects are terminology management, quality assurance in technical documentation, standards and training and qualification of professionals. Whenever an organization tackles one or two or all three of these aspects, it would have an impact on the other aspects or the entire quality system.
