Abstract: The semantics on the term “spring back”has been discussed in detail.It points out that,when the polysemant term “spring back”is translated into Chinese “弹性后效”and“回弹”,the terms represent two different physical properties of a solid material respectively,then,the former means a solid material shape and volum change(undergo a process) affected by “elastic-enelastic”synthetical action,and the later only represents its elastic recovery,i.e.(transient) spring back affected by elastic force.These two terms should not be mixed up with each other.
