Translation Method of TCM Terms: A Skopos Theory Perspective

Abstract: The Skopos theory holds that translation is a kind of purposeful activity and should be carried out in the cross cultural context. Thus the purpose of translated versions determines the translation method, criteria and strategy. This paper, framed upon the Skopos theory, probes into problems and translation techniques in the translation of the traditional Chinese medicine terminology.
