Abstract:

The national standard GB/T 7713.2—2022 Presentation of academic papers released on December 30,2022,has made clear regulations on the use of numbers in academic papers through clauses such as requirement type,recommendation type,and permission type. During the implementation of this standard,some journal editors have raised some questions. In order to make these clauses precisely understood and properly implemented,as a participant in the formulation and revision of GB / T 7713. 2,I intend to briefly answer these questions in this paper, such as Why is the Arabic numerals recommended? In which situations should Arabic numerals be used? What are the numerical rounding rules for scientific measurement? How to group continuous data? What norms should be followed when separating digits of 4-digit and above numbers? Is it allowed to use Arabic numerals in combination with Chinese numerals other than“wan”(ten thousand)and “yi”(one hundred million)? In which situations should Chinese numerals be used?
