Abstract:

With the development of online technology, an evaluation of the quality of the term bases is required. This paper discusses how to make an objective and effective assessment of the term bases and build an evaluation criteria system in the current trend of the rapid emergence of online terminology databases. Using methods of documentation and classification, we analyzed the literature regarding terminological data banks and carried out categorization study on some examples of term banks. The study aims at facilitating the classification of the various types of online term bases, and then carry out the evaluation of the quality of the term bases so as to establish a scientific evaluation system. Our results show that classification can contribute to the categorization, description and evaluation of the term bases, which will be a help to identify and validate different types of term bank resources and improve communication in the specialized field.
