Abstract:

With the rapid development of technology,the application of personal biometric information has become more frequent and common in people’s daily lives.At the same time,it has also given rise to more serious legal risks.China’s laws and regulations have fully recognized the importance of providing special protection for personal biometric information.However,as an important legal concept in the field of personal information protection,personal biometric information has not been clearly defined in the law.Through a systematic analysis of the three essential characteristics of personal biometric information,namely unique identifiability,irrevocability,and high sensitivity,it can be concluded that personal biometric information refers to highly sensitive biometric information that has been processed by identification technology,can directly and accurately identify a unique specific natural person,is difficult to change,and carries the personal interests of the information subject.
