Abstract: Abbreviated term (abbreviation) is a very important component of the system of terminology. Abbreviations are widely used in some fields. The research on abbreviation is helpful in improving the expression of terminology and promoting the popularization of term concept, and is very important to guarantee a healthy development of national language. Based on terms and their abbreviations, we classified abbreviations of scientific terms as general abbreviation and special abbreviation, and analyzed term abbreviation phenomenon.
