Abstract: Copyleft is a new word in the domain of intellectual property. As a term of intellectual property, copyleft urges the comprehending differentiation in all circles in China, and its Chinese translation varies among technological circles, press circles and academic circles. However, there are still no suitable Chinese translation of the word “copyleft ”. Based on analyzing the existing interpretations, this paper appeals related departments to examine and approve the Chinese translation of copyleft.
