Abstract: In the 1950s, When the CAS compiled terminology, there had been some adjustments whether or not “ban(钣)” be used to replace the term of “banliang(板梁)”. In fact, the “ban(钣)” has been existed since Chinese ancient time, not a new character. From the perspective of standardized terminology, “banliang(板梁)” should not be used as “banliang(钣梁)”.
