Abstract:

Based on the comparison analysis of linguistics and terminology, we analyzed the characteristics of terminology, introduced the essence of “3W theory” (3 worlds of concepts), and pointed out the deep mechanism of “ontology” in terminology. We also take the two terms “standard” and “standardization”as specific cases to analyze the differences and relationships between related concepts behind these two terms, which generated from different contexts and perspectives at all possible levels. Moreover, we think “standard” and “standardization” are facing changes in national conditions and need to develop with the international standards, and put forward two proposals for implementing the relevant concepts and terminology for the dynamic transformation.
