Abstract:

This paper focuses on the term characteristics of English for tire industry, including technical words, semi-technical words, interdisciplinary words, extensive use of abbreviations and nominalizations. Meanwhile, we also illustrate the translation process in detail with relevant examples from translation practice in Continental Tire and explores some strategies for translating texts of tire industry. We expect to provide comprehensive methods to translate scientific terms.
