Abstract:
As a language output skill,English writing is an important indicator of language proficiency.Its teaching,however,faces challenges of uneven student levels and diverse needs.Traditional summative evaluation can hardly fully reflect the development of students’ writing abilities.As a formative evaluation tool,the e-learning portfolio can record the learning process,promote reflection,and compensate for the limitations of traditional evaluation method.Based on the Chaoxing platform,the writer explores its application in English writing courses and puts forward practical suggestions,aiming to optimize teaching evaluation,meet differentiated needs,and enhance students’ comprehensive writing abilities.
