Abstract: Vagueness, a property of natural language, exists even in precise economic terminology. Though the generality of human thinking enables people with different languages to understand many vague concepts, yet the different thinking patterns and language habits will hinder the correct comprehension in E-C translation if vagueness is not properly handled. This paper regards that any methods or strategies, if able to make terms more standardized and more acceptable to the target language, are feasible ones, either from vagueness to vagueness, or from vagueness to clearness.
Key words: economics terminology, vagueness, translation strategies
