Characteristics and Definition of the Term for History of Science: Inter-cropping Rice as an Example

Abstract: Taking inter-cropping rice that existed in history as an example, this paper discusses the definition and characteristics of the term of the science history, pointing out that as a term of science history, it need not only a clear definition, but also the origin and evolution of the concept. Originated in the Song Dynasty and popularized in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,intercropping rice was firstly known as “Jisheng”, and then it was given many different names. This article chose the name of “Jisheng” as a term of science history to define.
