On Systematic Principle of English Term Standards for Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology

Abstract: This paper illustrates the principle of systematic for English term standards of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology in the perspectives of linguistic hierarchy, semantic and structural relations. Not only a translated term should be equivalent to its original semantically in its own light, the terms in the target language should be consistent with those in the source language as well. Translator therefore have to take care of the subtle discrepancy of a single translated term as in its own group and the interrelationship of different translated terms as in their respective groups.
