Abstract:

The theoretical study of examining and approving scientific and technical vocabulary has an important guiding effect on the practice in examining and approving scientific and technical vocabularies, and China National Committee for Terms in Sciences and Technologies (CNCTST)has made a number of important achievements in this aspect. The theoretical study of examining and approving scientific and technical vocabulary is broadly divided into basic theoretical research, applied theoretical research, examining and approving work policy, and strategic research. CNCTST can use the way of theoretical research carried out by China’s State Language Work Committee and Standardization Administration for reference, according to its own characteristics, further explore and improve the way to develop the theoretical study of examining and approving scientific and technical vocabulary.
