Abstract: Term constitution refers to ways or means that the term components construct a new terminology in terms of a certain word-formation or phrase formation. There are not only similarities but also differences on the formations of both Chinese and English terminologies on the four formational ways, such as derivation, compound, shortening and conversion. Comparative analysis of constitution forms between Chinese and English terminologies will not only facilitate the deep understanding of the formation and mastering the implications of two terminologies, but also offer some references for the formation of a new term.
