Abstract: “Opium” has different interpretations due to the influences of different historical and cultural. In the new historical period, the correct interpretation and translation of “opium” is very important for a complete and correct understanding of Marx's “religion is people’s spiritual opium”, and also very important for the international distribution of Chinese language and culture.
