Abstract: The Revised List of Words with Variant Pronunciation in Putonghua, which has a good normative effect on common words with variant pronunciation, still cannot completely solve the phonetic problems in science and technology fields. In standardizing work on scientific words with variant pronunciation, we need to do analysis and processing according to different circumstances, such as misreading, literary and colloquial reading, habitual pronunciation, transliteration, and so on.
