Abstract:

“Digital Dunhuang” is a project for the Dunhuang culture conservation, presenting the Dunhuang Caves by both panoramic photos and the bilingual introductory texts. The English version of the above-mentioned introduction is the translation based on its Chinese version. Consequently, the dissemination of the “Digital Dunhuang” relies partially on its translation quality, especially that of Dunhuang culture terms. This paper takes the translation of terminology in “Digital Dunhuang” as the research object, analyzes some of the existing difficulties and summarizes the relevant translation strategies.
