Abstract: In different areas, jig refers to quite different objects. Therefore, it is important to analyze the meanings of jig. The article starts from the analysis of the Chinese meanings of jig, compares and analyzes the difference of jig when using in different areas, and researches the using status and prospect of the term in the fields of engineering and information technology.
