大连海岛地名用字考释一则

摘要：

大连海岛地名中有一些独特用字,如“江”字。经考察,“江”可作为海岛通名来使用,原因有三:一是“江”有“汇聚”义,岛礁所在位置恰是水域汇聚的地方;二是人们称某片海域为“江”,海岛位于这片海域之中,便以海域名作为海岛地名;三是“岛、礁、石”等通名省略的结果,习惯直接取“江”作为通名。

Abstract:

There are some special characters in the names of Dalian islands,such as Jiang.After investigation,Jiang can be used as the common name of the island for three reasons:(1)Jiang has the meaning of convergence,and the location of the island is exactly where the waters converge,so Jiang is used as the common name;(2)People call a certain sea area Jiang,and the name of the sea area is used as the name of the island in the same area;(3)The customary practice of directly using Jiang as the generic term arises from the omission of generic names such as Dao,Jiao and Shi.
