Abstract: In the early 20’s century, Chinese scientific translators created new characters to correspond to elements. Some of these Chinese characters were forgotten soon. This article tracks the origin, propagation and destiny of three characters from astronomical elements. They have not been well accepted yet. Such situation is still affecting the modern expression of scientific history and scientific terms.
