Abstract:

The current administrative “province”originates from the “three provinces” of the ancient “three provinces and six departments”，while the “province”of the “three provinces”is believed to originate from the “province”that was changed from the “省中” of the palace to the “省中” due to taboo.It can be seen from current investigation that the palace’s use of “省中” is not a taboo and has been changed，and the “province” of “省中”and the “province”of “three provinces”are not suitable for extending their meanings to explain.The “province” of “省中” and “three provinces”is the result of linguistic symbolization formed under the same conceptual elements.The current “province” of administration is a generalization of the use of the “province” of the “three provinces”.
