Abstract:

The sluggishness of literary term standardization now highlights more and more pitfalls of the traditional result-based prescriptive approach to the practice and study of literary term translation. The principle of terminology processing put forward by J. C. Sager provides translators and researchers with a new terminological approach to the translation of literary terms in which the translation of literary terms is put into the category of “secondary term formation.” This process-based descriptive approach to the translation of literary terms can more effectively help identify and address the problems in the translation of literary terms, and promote the standardization of literary terms.

Key words: translation of literary terms, the principle of terminology processing, terminological approach
