摘要/Abstract

摘要： 从语言文字和社会文化发展的角度探讨比较“Romanization”一词“罗马化”与“拉丁化”两种译名的合理性。并认为:对于多义术语“Romanization”,在翻译成汉语术语时应当做分化工作,“罗马化”的译名主要应用范畴在于法律、艺术等方面,而语言文化范畴内的“Romanization”译为“拉丁化”则较符合国际惯例和大众逻辑。

Abstract: Translation of polysemous terms belongs to a professional domain. In this article, the author discusses the appropriate Chinese translations of the word “Romanization”. The important principle lies in deep understanding of history, social backgrounds, and respect of cultural differences. Discrimination is necessary when polysemous words translated into different domains.
