应急语言服务视角下的新冠肺炎医学英语专题术语表开发

作者简介:李龙兴(1986—),男,澳门理工学院讲师,澳门大学博士候选人。曾赴新加坡南洋理工大学(2014—2015)和香港理工大学(导师黄居仁教授)访学(2017—2018)。主要研究方向涉及语料库语言学、翻译学、词汇语义学和话语研究。在Sage Open、System、International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism、Language and Education等SSCI期刊发表文章和书评4篇,另有数篇文章发表于《外语与翻译》等期刊,为Springer出版社撰写专书章节。通信方式:yb67707@um.edu.mo。
王宪(1970—),男,澳门大学英文系副教授,昆士兰大学应用语言学博士(2006),NAATI翻译员。研究兴趣为跨语言语用学、基于语料库的对比语言研究以及翻译中的话语和语用研究。文章发表于Sage Open、Target、Journal of Language、Literature and Culture以及TESOL相关期刊,为Springer、Routledge和Brill等出版社撰写专书章节,专著《中国英语学习者的请求研究》由John Benjamins出版。近期主要研究利用大数据和语料库语言学方法考察语言特征、话语以及在新冠肺炎疫情等社会事件中概念隐喻的使用。通信方式:vxwang@um.edu.mo。

摘要：

新型冠状病毒肺炎在全球的迅速蔓延,让我们深刻意识到突发公共卫生危机中应急医疗和社会治理之外,应急知识和语言服务的重要性。以词表开发和术语管理等形式提供的术语支援是应急语言服务的一种重要方式和途径,是保障精确沟通、顺畅传播的必要条件。文章从应急语言服务视角出发,利用Sketch Engine语料库工具,从COVID-19语料库中提取出364条新冠肺炎英语单词术语和176条多词术语,以期助力于新冠疫情的防控。从本次新冠肺炎专题词表的开发实践中,文章总结出以目的为导向的学术词表制作流程,并提出学术词表的后续研究方向,为应急语言服务中的术语支援提供参考。

Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic around the globe made us acutely aware of the importance of emergency language services in public health emergencies. Terminology support provided in the form of word list development and terminology management is an important way of emergency language services, which ensures accurate and smooth communication. In order to help prevent and control the pandemic from the perspective of emergency language services, 364 single-word terms and 176 multi-word terms of COVID-19 are extracted from the COVID-19 corpus using the corpus tool of Sketch Engine. From the practice of producing this word list, we summarize a procedure of academic word list development and point out future directions for academic word list making and research in the hope of providing reference for terminology support in emergency language services.
