Abstract:

In the field of language engagement where globalization and digital media interweave,Myanmar’s social media presents a unique landscape of loanword adoption.Through multi-source data collection and corpus analysis,this paper reveals how young people in Myanmar have deeply integrated foreign morphemes such as English with local cultural symbols through cognitive strategies such as transliteration,semantic reconfiguration,and hybrid word formation,forming a digital language hybrid with both instrumental communication and cultural resistance implications.Both absorb global cultural capital and strengthen local subjectivity.This process is not only a localization of the global techno-linguistic discourse,but also reflects the active practice of teenagers in reconstructing cultural identity under the pressure of globalization.The interaction between loanwords and the common Myanmar Language has gone beyond the linear borrowing pattern to form a dynamic symbolic negotiation mechanism,which profoundly reflects the strategy of Myanmar Language society in balancing cultural openness and subjectivity during digital transformation.
