Abstract:

With the advancement of modern research in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM),many emerging terms have gradually entered international medical exchanges. These new terms can be categorized into two groups:those that have not yet been standardized and need urgent establishment of standards, and those that are already standardized but not widely adopted, which require enhanced promotion. These terms include both TCM and non-TCM teminology(such as Western medicine, biology),and it is essential to focus on accuracy and consistency in translation. This article analyzes typical translation issues and proposes recommendations, including accelerating the establishment of international standards for TCM teminology, strengthening the promotion of existing standardized terms, and encouraging research and innovative translation of new terms to enhance the influence of TCM in the global medical community.

Key words: modernization of traditional Chinese medicine, English translation of terminology, international standards, translation consistency, global influence
