Abstract: There has been a lack of consistency in the Chinese translation of the names of western translation theoreticians whose theories are prevailing in China. The inconsistent translation, which can be viewed as a kind of academic misconduct, might cause confusion and inconvenience to related research. This article elaborates on the status quo in the translation of the names of the contemporary western theoreticians and comes up with suggestive ideas in this regard, and also emphasizes the importance and necessity of unifying and regulating the Chinese translation of the names of the contemporary western translation theoreticians.
