Abstract:

In China,the cruise industry is thriving,but there is considerable controversy over the term “cruise”.From the perspective of terminology,this paper examines its usage by academia and industry in China,and claims that “cruise” is a technical term for the cruise industry which integrates shipbuilding,tourism,transportation,and hospitality.Besides,it is necessary to standardize other cruise-related terms into a cruise terminology,so that further research into cruise terminology can be conducted.
