Etymology,Translation,and Pragmatic Functions of the Term “Law”

Abstract

Abstract:

The homogeneity of the concept of “law” in Eastern and Western languages is reflected in its speech acts,which include commands,authorizations,prohibitions,constraints,and exhortations.The political pragmatic function of the Marxist concept of law has evolved with social development,encompassing instrumental,economically determined,voluntaristic,and transformative characteristics.With the Sinicization of Marxism,“law” has served as a tool for the New Democratic Revolution and socialist modernization,with its connotations continuously deepened to fulfill its political pragmatic function.
