Strategy of Translation Variation in Legal Terms between English and Chinese

Abstract

Abstract:

The causes of unequivalence in legal terms between English and Chinese include the differences of the two legal languages, the two legal cultures, the intentions of legislators and the proficiency of legal translators. We advise that the strategy of translation variation should be applied to legal terms translation, and the translation effectiveness of unequivalence in legal terms between English and Chinese is demonstrated by eight ways of translation variation with examples.
