Abstract: The publication of Chinese Terms in Linguistics (2011) marked it has made substantial progress of the standardization on linguistic terms. It will have a pioneering and exemplary impact on the work of scientific and technological terms standardization, especially in the field of social sciences. It will also give a positive effect to the development of linguistics itself. In the future standardization works, while we give respect to traditions, lay emphasis on historical continuity and standard systematic complexity, we should overcome “standardizing afterwards”, and pay more attention to database establishment and popularization and application.
