摘要：
佛山祠堂及文化的英译涉及祠堂建筑专业语汇的处理和历史文化背景的传达。祠堂及文化的汉译英的难点在于既要结合祠堂建筑特色及其蕴含的中国传统文化特质,又要充分考虑英文读者的接受能力。论文结合翻译目的论及佛山地区,特别是顺德地区祠堂及文化翻译实践简要分析佛山祠堂翻译的策略与方法。
关键词: 翻译目的论, 祠堂术语, 归化与异化, 音译, 意译
Abstract:
The English translation of Foshan Ancestral Halls involves the terms of the architecture and the historical and cultural background. The difficulty of the translation is not only the combination of the architecture features of Ancestral Temples and the unique characteristics of traditional Chinese culture, but also the acceptability of the English speakers should be taken into consideration. Based on the translation work of Ancestral Halls in Foshan, especially Shunde district, the analysis of the strategies and methods of the English translation is made from the perspective of the Skopos theory.
